TERMS & CONDITIONS - Please read this in conjunction with the COVID-19 Information here!
GENERAL – Bookings accommodation advertisements, quotations and requests for reservations are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed until a deposit has been accepted and a booking confirmation has been sent/received.
All advertised rates are per person based on minimum of 2 adults sharing – unless otherwise stated. Child and infant rates are based on being accompanied by two paying adults. Rates may be subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to change room type or room configuration before arrival.
CANCELLATIONS - Requests for Cancellations and Refunds will be considered on case by case basis. In most cases the following will apply:
BOOKINGS MADE THROUGH AGENCIES WILL BE SUBJECT TO THE REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICIES OF THOSE AGENCIES and cannot be cancelled, altered or amended except through the agency. In most cases agencies will apply the same or similar conditions as direct bookings.
BOOKINGS MADE THROUGH Booking.com ARE GENERALLY 100% NOT REFUNDABLE OR TRANSFERABLE.
BOOKINGS CANCELLED MORE THAN 60 DAYS BEFORE THE ARRIVAL DATE will incur a cancellation fee of up to $200 PER ROOM in a booking – all other funds paid directly to Matterhorn Lodge will be returned.
BOOKINGS CANCELLED LESS THAN 60 BUT MORE THAN 30 DAYS BEFORE THE ARRIVAL DATE will incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the booking value – all other funds paid directly to Matterhorn Lodge will be returned.
BOOKINGS CANCELLED LESS THAN 30 DAYS BEFORE THE ARRIVAL DATE will incur a cancellation fee of up to 100% of the booking value – any excess funds paid directly to Matterhorn Lodge will be returned.
No refunds of accommodation or any other related services will be given if the guests:
do not show up on their expected arrival date or departs prior to planned departure date;
are unable to arrive on the day of booking due to travel being impaired by transport or weather conditions.
No refunds will be given where accommodation bookings are cancelled, altered or amended because of weather conditions, or because services and products provided by others are unavailable/available.
Bookings may not be transferable.
Special Conditions apply to COVID-19 Related Cancellations for the 2021 Season:
A full refund, or credit for a future stay will be offered if:
You cancel your booking with a Doctors certificate (citing Covid-19 symptoms, a positive Covid-19 test result, a Covid-19 test awaiting determination, or referral for Covid-19 testing) within 14 days of arrival.
The Matterhorn Lodge cancels a booking because it is closed or no longer has capacity to honour your booking.
If you cancel your booking because you are prevented from travelling by a Government ban or border closure, or if the Perisher Resort has ceased to operate all lifts in all resort areas due to a Government imposed Covid-19 closure :
A $50 per person charge will apply and be deducted from your refund (capped at $200 for families). Bookings made through agencies may, in some cases, attract additional agency charges.
In most cases those choosing to transfer deposits paid to new bookings or take a credit for a future booking will incur no penalty – i.e. full balances paid will be transferred towards that future stay. Any cancellation fee or charge imposed by Matterhorn Lodge may be reclaimed as a credit on a future booking. This may exclude any fee or charged imposed by others.
DEPOSITS – Deposit and Balance payment requirements can vary. Deposit details will be listed on quotation or other booking documents and receipts. Unless otherwise stated…
Specials and Early Bird prices require a 25% deposit to confirm and full payment by 28 January.
All other bookings, generally, require 50% deposit payment at the time of booking, and full payment 60 days prior to first night of booking to confirm the reservation.
Bookings made after June 1 will require full payment at the time of booking.
Please check that you receive our receipt.
PAYMENTS - Payment details will be listed on quotation or other booking documents and receipts. Unless otherwise stated payments may be made:
on-line with Visa, Matercard and Amex using the ‘pay online link’ in the email documents we send you.
by EFT bank transfer using the ‘bank account details and booking reference number’ in the email documents we send you.
By phone using AMEX, visa or master-card (credit card surcharges may apply).
Please ensure that your payments are made on or before the due date listed in the booking documents we send you and that you receive receipt and confirmation documents prior to your arrival.
AMENDMENTS - are acceptable (subject to availability) prior to arrival, or by agreement, and may incur an amendment fee of $50.

TRANSPORTATION AND SNOW CONDITIONS - Complimentary arrival and departure transfers are provided by Hans Oversnow between the Perisher Skitube & the Matterhorn Lodge.
These are only available during Hans Oversnows normal operating hours (outside these times surcharges may apply and bookings may be required).

There is no parking available at the Matterhorn Lodge and The National Parks and Wildlife Service does not allow overnight parking in Perisher Valley between 12 midnight and 7am.
INSURANCE - We strongly advise guests to insure against medical expenses, personal accident, loss of deposit and cancellation fees.
CHECK IN & DEPARTURE TIMES – Check in is 3pm and room check out is 9 am.
Luggage storage may be available for early arrivals from 8am or late departures until 4pm on an all care no responsibility basis.
Dinner service may not be available for guests arriving at Matterhorn Lodge after 7.30 pm
NO SMOKING POLICY - Matterhorn Lodge maintains a STRICT NO SMOKING POLICY.
This includes all areas within the building and near entry points (including out windows). Smoking inside will attract a non-negotiable cleaning & deodorising fee of $175. Matterhorn Lodge reserves the right, at its discretion, to debit your credit card for any such fee.
CLEANING AND ROOM MAINTENANCE OR OTHER CHARGES - may be applied in the case of misuse or mistreatment of any of the rooms or facilities.
This includes, but is not limited to, smoking, deliberate damage or vandalism, activation of fire and smoke detection equipment or other devices linked to fire alarm services, or other inappropriate activity in any of the facilities or bedrooms. Damage to any Matterhorn Lodge facilities will result in full costs being charged to the accounts of those responsible and the Police may be involved. Cooking is strictly prohibited in rooms. Extra charges will apply if cooking appliances are found in rooms. Matterhorn Lodge reserves the right, at its discretion, to debit your credit card for any such fees.
